The National Research Tomsk State University is hosting the 4th International Forum
«Transformation of Education». The 2025 theme focuses on one of the key priorities in the renewal
of higher education — ensuring the quality of education for emerging industries and achieving technological leadership. The Forum will bring together university leaders, policymakers, researchers, and experts in the field of education to discuss trends, research evidence, and innovative practices shaping the future of higher education in Russia and globally.

Participate in a special session on emerging issues in education research
- Round Table: “How Research Transforms Education: Evidence, Practice and Decision-Making” (conducted in English)The round table will address how educational research informs university governance, institutional transformation, and teaching practice. Participants will discuss which types of research and data currently set the agenda for educational change, define management priorities, and support evidence-based decisions in higher education.
Key questions include:- Which areas of educational research are setting new directions for university development?
- How can institutions integrate reliable data into their governance and teaching processes?
- What forms of collaboration between researchers, administrators, and educators can foster an evidence-based academic culture?
The discussion will be based on a comparison of practices and experiences of researchers from different countries.
The goal of the meeting is to outline pathways toward building more effective educational practices grounded in scientific research and empirical evidence.

Currently, TSU holds the 264th position in the QS World University Ranking, as well as the 4th place among the universities of Russia.
The university staff includes over 600 professors (including 140 foreign professors) and 1,300 PhDs.
Scientific tasks of world-wide importance are solved on the basis of 33 leading scientific schools. TSU is actively collaborating with leading universities, scientific centers, and companies of the world.
Over 15 thousand students pursue bachelor, master and specialist degrees at TSU. Its rankings and reputation abroad makes TSU attractive for international students: 67 countries are represented by almost a quarter of students. 800 students (including over 250 international students) are pursuing their PhD at TSU.

Tomsk State University was founded on May 28 (16), 1878 as the Siberian Imperial University, the first university beyond the Urals. During its lifetime, the university has trained over 160 thousand professionals ready to work in all sectors of economy and public life.
Since its inception, TSU has been actively participating in the life of the region not just as a supplier of professionals, but as one of the main driving forces behind intellectual, cultural and social development.
